iPhone Journal: Crazies

Recently, the Lord has been giving me and my family lots of opportunities to grow in our faith in Him.  He is stretching us.  It is hilarious, because He sometimes allows us to get to the absolute end of everything we have before then filling our need.  The reason I think its funny, is not the situation itself, but in the ridiculous inclination I immediately have to try to explain away the provision as not from the hand of God.  We prayed and waited and prayed and waited and prayed all the way up until the very last possible day.  Then, day of, I find myself talking to the Lord and confessing my unbelief.  Telling Him of my fears of "what if You don't come through?"  And, day of, He totally comes through in a big way and I almost find myself telling Him, "Oh, wait, never mind, you don't need to help us.  Help came.  Phew, we're okay--false alarm."  Its ridiculous.  The Lord is teaching me thankfulness.  To thank Him for all the blessings He gives, big or small.  Because it is so easy to take them for granted and not see that they all come from His merciful hand.
James 1:16,17
Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above,
and comes down from the Father of lights,
with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

Matthew 6:31-34
Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?'
or 'What shall we wear?'  For after all these things the
Gentiles seek.  For your heavenly Father knows that you
need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God
and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added
unto you.  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow,
for tomorrow will worry about its own things.
Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
