Sneak Peak

Hey guys...  Here's a little peak into our week away from home.  We had a blast.  We're not back yet, but we're done camping and I have access to a real live computer.  We forgot to bring a camera on our trip, so these were all taken with my iPhone.

"Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."  Hebrews 12:1,2

The Un-Party

(see post below for explanation)

On their way to the candy store...

Caiden's First Tea Party

My iPhone will only let me blog one photo per post, which is
excruciating because I have a few of these tea party shots worth
sharing and I had the hardest time deciding which to show you...
Maybe it's trying to stretch me-- both in photography composition and
decisiveness...

We have a tea party every beach trip on one of the afternoons that
we're there. We send the boys to the candy store and get our party
on. Always with china and little finger foods, cookies, and fruit,
pretty table cloths and serving platters. This year caiden got to
participate along with Olivia, Elliott's little pal. Did I mention
that there's a whole group of friends who camp in Carpinteria, too?
It's like a big party.

I can't wait to have little tea parties of my own with the little
munch! She's so cute! And she loved her vanilla tea (with plenty of
cream and sugar). I'm planning on having some beautiful sunny
mornings sipping tea at the breakfast table with her soon. Oh, the
things we will do together... Don't ya just want to give her a little
squeeze? I'll give her one for you, cuz I know you do!

The best things in life are free

It's too windy on the beach to play today so we're walking around the
asphalt circle which skirts the beach where everyone parks their
trailers. Caiden found this little pile of dirt that is obviously of
intense interest since I've been standing here for 10 minutes while
Caiden gathers sticks and acorns and moves them from one spot to
another. How very random that she decided to stop here of all places
and be perfectly content to be still.

DEAR BLOG

Dear Blog,

How are you? It's been so long since we last spoke and though I miss
you terribly I've been holding out for something interesting to tell
you or show you. That, plus the fact that my usually ho-hum life that
proceeds with a certain monotony has begun to be turned upside down in
the excitement that numerous visitors can bring along with a week and
a half where I was physically less than 100% after my wisdom teeth
were removed. And now finally that I'm feeling better I find myself
and my children away on a glorious beachside holiday in a pop-up tent
trailer with my mother-in-law. So you see, dear blog, I just haven't
been myself lately. You are, however, always in my thoughts.

Please tell all of my faithful readers that I'm still here and welcome
all of the sweet comments they always leave me. And also tell them
that I'll post some things via my iPhone while I'm away if I see or
think of some things that might be of interest. And also I may post
some things of little to no interest to anyone but my poor husband who
can't be with us right now and enjoys all my silly posts.

That's all for now, little blog. Take good care of yourself and my
readers, too, in my absence.

Warm regards,
crynfiction

Ironic

Isn't it ironic that my son's name is Elliott and his early attempts
at signing his name look like this? "E.T."

Verse of the Day

This passage in I Corinthians has challenged me...

I Corinthians 9:24-27

"Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but {only} one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win.

Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. They then {do it} to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.

Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air; but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified."

Am I living like Christ so much so that it is as if I am running this race as if to win first prize?  Or am I like those who enter a marathon with no intent of even trying to come in first, but just to simply finish?
