Follow-up

Look what Jesus left on my fridge! As a follow up to my last post,
here is the answer to my prayer. My "trust in the Lord at all times,"
answer... Money to pay rent!

As I turned to put the milk back in the fridge, this morning, I was
shocked to find this obscene amount of money staring me in the
face...And why was I shocked? The Lord always, always, always comes
through for us and provides for us. "Oh ye of little faith..."

Hello, Friends...

Hi everybody...  So, it turns out, I'm not much of a blogger these days...there hasn't really been much I want to talk to about.  But this evening, I took a break from motherhood (for a precious hour at my neighborhood Starbucks), seeking the counsel of the Lord, and this is what He said to me...

"My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him.  He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved.  In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God.  Trust in him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us."  Psalm 62:5-8

This, I think, is something I feel like talking about.  God is so good!  God is so great!  Everytime I read the Psalms I feel like singing...

Wait, for God ALONE...the rock of my strength, my refuge...Trust in Him at all times.  Okay, I can do that.  All times...not just those times when I have been good and reliable, but things aren't working out right.  Even in times when it is my fault that I'm in need of His help.  Face it, we never deserve it, even when we are "good."  So don't be prideful--"Trust in Him at all times; Pour out your heart before Him;" and watch what He can do!

Really, you should just go and take 2 minutes to read the whole chapter.  There are a lot of good things in there.

Brrrrrr...

How are you handling the cold weather this year? We're hanging in
there, but its only going to get colder!

Verse of the day.

Psalm 61:1-4

"Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I
will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock
that is higher than I. For you have been a shelter for me, a strong
tower from the enemy. I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will
trust in the shelter of your wings."

Look what we made!

I did something a little bit cruel... Last week, when Elliott was
asleep, I brought out all of his toys and put them in separate bins
divided by category. After I finished, I placed each bin on the top
shelf of Elliott's closet where he couldn't reach them. Now, he must
ask me to get each thing he wants to play with. I've never heard of
this approach before and it seems a little mean, but I just couldn't
keep up with all the chaos. It has actually been very helpful for me
and instructive for Elliott, because he is learning that he must pick
up after himself before moving on to the next thing. It also gives me
more time to focus on playing with him since I'm not needing to be
perpetually cleaning up after him. He enjoys things more when there
is some sort of order and I finally have a tiny bit of control over my
house again!
